Boarding the Qantas plane on the 31st March with 26 excited Studio M students was the start of an amazing trip of a lifetime. With a group of boys and girls ranging from ages 11 to 23 some who had never left the country before, Studio M was headed for Los Angeles.

We headed straight to the land of Disney where our hotel was located. We spent 3 magical days dancing in Disneyland and participated in Disney workshops. It was inspiring to also watch other dance schools from all over the world share the same experience.

Miss Emma then extended our trip to Hollywood where we experienced more sightseeing and dance classes. We visited the beautiful Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach. Between intensive Zumba classes at 3rd Street Dance and the inspiring teachers of the Edge Dance Studios we felt we had all grown as dancers and performers.

We would like to thank Miss Emma for all her hard work in creating this amazing trip full of endless opportunities. I’m sure all the students, teachers and parents who were involved would all agree that Disneyland Tour 2010 was an experience we will never forget.

Love always Katie & Tina

Disneyland Tour 2007

For 12 days,  23 talented, excited StudioM dancers traveled to Los Angeles for a trip of a life time. Under the inspirational guide of the gifted Miss Emma Russell these girls danced along side other dance schools from around the world! Performing in Disneyland over 3 big days was a truly unforgettable experience for all involved.

Workshops at the Edge in Hollywood and open classes in the rehearsal rooms of  "So You Think You Can Dance" This experience not only opened up our eyes as to how much potential we all have but pushed us all to dance from the inside out. With day trips to Seaworld San Diego, Universal Studios and seeing the New Musical Wicked  and performing at Knotts Berry Farm theme park.

The 2007 Disneyland Tour was a truly memorable trip that taught us all the gift of dance and values that we will carry with us forever.

Highlights of our 2007 Tour

Miss Emma’s highlight - The day we went to the Edge and after the most amazing Hip Hop class the girls found Miss Emma’s favourite star in the gym next door. Mr. McSteamy from Grey's Anatomy! Not only did they crowd around him but as good students they are pulled him (willingly) out of the gym to meet his biggest fan!  We even hugged!

Tina Koteczky - Definitely Shamu! The whale show at Sea world San Diego!

Sarah Heywood - Dancing in front of all those people at Disneyland!

Katie Dowzard - All the dance classes at the Edge. Such a great experience!

Sarah Russell- Seeing “Wicked” at Pentages Theatre Hollywood!   4th July Disney Parade – had to pinch myself! Santa Monica Pier, Circus on the water at San Diego – Sorry can’t decide, all of it was amazing!!!

Nick Russell- (without a doubt) CHEROS!!! Yum yum

Maxine Short- Shopping in Beverley Hills and the Mexican Markets where we all spent a fortune!
